HELP FOR OWNERS & BUYERS
Car Buying & Selling FAQ in Sabah
Clear answers about selling, financing, viewings, warranty and the JualDirectBah transaction process.
Selling Your Car
How does JualDirectBah value my car?
JualDirectBah’s suggested value considers real market data, bank/financing reference values and JDB’s internal formula so the value remains balanced for both owner and buyer.
For a vehicle in good condition and accurately described, it is intended to be a highly reliable market-based selling target. It is not a legally guaranteed price. Condition issues may reduce the final achievable value.
Is listing my car free?
Yes. Listing is currently free, with no upfront payment to submit your vehicle.
Can I price my car above the JDB valuation?
You may reduce the price. Increasing it above the JDB valuation is not recommended because the valuation is data-based and excessive pricing can reduce sellability.
Can I sell a car with an outstanding bank loan?
Yes. You can indicate that settlement assistance is required when you submit. JDB manages settlement arrangements only after a buyer is confirmed, terms are agreed and the required documents and agreements are signed.
If the settlement amount exceeds the owner’s proceeds, top-up arrangements are required. Depending on the agreed commercial arrangement, this may involve the owner or buyer.
Can I withdraw my listing?
Yes. An owner can withdraw without penalty before a final transaction agreement or commitment has been entered.
Can older, accident, flood, high-mileage or imperfect cars still be listed?
They may be accepted when the owner is honest, relevant condition is disclosed, the price reflects that condition and a willing buyer exists. Older cars can still be listed, although financing becomes more limited; vehicles around 2014 and older may be considerably harder to finance.
JDB does not describe mechanically imperfect vehicles as problem-free. Disclosure badges may be used where available.
Can I list a car with expired road tax or insurance?
Yes, but it must not be driven illegally on public roads without valid legal requirements.
When does the seller receive payment?
The owner receives funds after ownership transfer and bank disbursement or transaction clearance. A bank-financed process typically takes around 2–10 working days after ownership transfer, depending on bank processing. JDB cannot guarantee an exact bank timeframe.
Can I keep using my car while it is listed?
Yes, provided it remains roadworthy and legally road-legal. JDB coordinates viewings with you.
Buying a Car
Does JualDirectBah buy cars as its own stock?
JualDirectBah is a managed direct-owner marketplace. It generally does not buy an owner’s car as stock and resell it like a traditional dealer. The vehicle remains the owner’s unit while JDB helps manage the transaction.
Commercial negotiation is managed through JDB. A lower offer is presented and discussed with the owner.
Can I view and test drive a car?
Yes. Buyers are encouraged to inspect and view the car and may bring their own mechanic. For financed buyers, JDB normally arranges financing first and viewing/test drive after approval so an owner’s time is not wasted.
A test drive is for a cash buyer who is genuinely proceeding or a buyer with approved financing. Valid licence and identification are required and the JDB team is present.
Must I proceed if the actual car condition is not satisfactory?
No. A buyer is not required to proceed if the actual vehicle condition is not satisfactory. JDB does not certify mechanical condition unless that exact unit has a stated JDB inspection.
Does the advertised price include insurance and road tax?
No. Motor insurance and road tax are separate. Insurance depends on required insured value, the vehicle, buyer profile and lender requirements. JDB can assist with insurance and road-tax arrangements.
Can buyers outside Kota Kinabalu or Sabah purchase through JDB?
JDB is a Sabah-focused marketplace with its primary operating base in Kota Kinabalu. Buyers from Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia may contact us to arrange a purchase.
Financing
Can I apply for financing before viewing a car?
Yes. This is encouraged for financed transactions. There is no JDB processing fee for a financing application or pre-check. Applications remain subject to eligibility, credit report, bank/financing-partner assessment and lender approval.
Does JDB offer full loan or guaranteed financing?
No. JDB does not promise full loan, 100% financing or approval. Where financing is below the transaction requirement, the buyer may need a deposit or top-up.
Can I apply with CTOS, CCRIS or blacklist status?
At present, applicants with those statuses are not eligible through JDB panels. You may speak with our team for general clarification.
Are cash purchases allowed?
Yes. Contact the JDB team to arrange a viewing and cash-purchase transaction.
Inspection & Warranty
Has every JDB car been inspected?
No. Inspection is not mandatory for every listing. Only vehicles actually inspected show a related inspection status or report.
How much is seller inspection?
The inspection service is RM100, paid by the seller. It can increase buyer confidence and sellability and may make selling easier or faster. A report is provided to the owner.
Do I receive a free warranty?
Eligible vehicles purchased through JualDirectBah include a complimentary 1-year warranty provided by EZCare Warranty, with no additional warranty fee for the buyer. General eligibility is vehicle age 10 years and below and mileage 200,000 km and below, subject to warranty-partner approval, coverage limits and policy terms.
Coverage may include categories such as engine, gearbox, cooling system, electrical, steering and suspension according to the actual policy. Full terms are provided. Claims are handled directly by EZCare according to its policy.
Transaction Process
What happens after the buyer and owner agree?
After financing is approved where applicable and the buyer and owner agree to proceed, a commitment fee applies: RM150 from the buyer and RM150 from the owner, RM300 in total. Both portions are refunded after successful transaction completion.
If a buyer voluntarily withdraws after committing, the buyer’s RM150 may be forfeited and the owner’s RM150 refunded. If an owner voluntarily withdraws, the owner’s RM150 may be forfeited and the buyer’s RM150 refunded. Exceptional circumstances are subject to review based on the circumstances.
Does JDB coordinate PUSPAKOM, JPJ and settlement?
JDB coordinates transaction-related processes where applicable, including PUSPAKOM, JPJ ownership transfer, E-Hakmilik, E-Serahan, bank settlement/release processes and documentation. These arrangements are incorporated into JDB’s transaction structure without disclosing internal calculations.
Where can I meet JDB?
Owners may visit the JDB office. Kota Kinabalu arrangements can also be made where practical. Listings are accepted throughout Sabah; outstation inspection and viewing depend on local workshop or partner availability.
What documents does a seller need?
A VOC or vehicle-ownership document may be required for financing arrangements. Owner identity documents are required for verification or ownership-transfer processes where applicable.
Can JDB help after the sale?
JDB can continue to assist with transaction-documentation issues, insurance and road tax. Warranty mechanical claims are handled by EZCare according to policy. A normal buyer/seller transaction is complete after successful handover.
Trust & Safety
Are all JDB sellers verified?
No. Owner verification is not mandatory for every listing. Where an owner provides required documents and passes review, an appropriate Verified status may be displayed. Owner identity documents are private, securely handled and never shown publicly on a vehicle listing.
Verification concerns identity and ownership documents, not mechanical certification, accident-free or flood-free status, or a condition guarantee.
Can someone submit a listing for the legal owner?
Yes. JDB may allow a submission on behalf of another person or company as long as the actual legal owner is properly identified for the transaction. The submitting account is not proof of legal ownership.
How do I keep payments to JDB safe?
All official JualDirectBah payments must be made only according to official payment instructions issued by JualDirectBah and to the authorised company account under Qawwam Mobility Sdn Bhd, SSM No. 202601028606 (1690701-M).
Do not make JualDirectBah payments to unauthorised personal or third-party accounts. Payments outside authorised instructions are outside JDB’s responsibility.
